Serena Williams is engaged to 33-year-old Alexis Ohanian, who co-founded Reddit. She is right now being blasted by some black people who are very upset she dumped black men for a white partner.

Serena had taken to Reddit Thursday morning to break her engagement news to the whole world in the form of a poem that she'll soon be Alexis Ohanian's wife.

The tennis star detailed her story in a Reddit post, saying Alexis popped the question with a surprise trip to Rome where they apparently first met. She said he took her to the exact same table where they first talked and got on one knee and popped the question.

Lawrence McKinney served 31 years in jail for a crime he didn't commit. He is now petitioning the State to compensate him $1 million for the years of his life that were taken away. All he's gotten so far is $75.
In October 1977, a Memphis woman was raped in her home by two intruders. She later identified one of them as her neighbor, Lawrence McKinney, who was 22 at the time. He was convicted on rape and burglary charges in 1978 and sentenced to 115 years in jail.

New Policy - You can now report a financial crime and earn 5% from the recovered sum!

The Nigerian Government has reportedly approved a policy that would see it paying 'whistle-blowers' to encourage the reporting of crimes and other scandals.

Premium Times reports that part of the highlights of the new policy is that whistle-blowers, whose revelations lead to recovery of money, would be entitled to up to five percent of the recovered sum.

The report says the policy was approved Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at the meeting of the Federal Executive Council , chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari inside the Council Chamber of the Aso Rock Villa.

A 33-year-old man, Segun Ogunlusi, has allegedly killed his mother, Abimbola Ogunlusi, on Tuesday, December 13th, 2016, because she was always demanding that he make love to her. 

The suspect was paraded at the Ogun State Police Command headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, on Tuesday by the state Police Commissioner, Ahmed Iliyasu.

102 bags of plastic rice intercepted in Lagos.

The Federal Operations Unit, Ikeja, of the Nigeria Customs Service, has intercepted 102 bags of plastic rice branded “Beat Tomato Rice” with no date of manufacture.
 
The Customs Area Controller of F.O.U., Comptroller Mohammed Haruna, on Tuesday in Lagos, said that the commodity was stored for distribution as Yuletide gifts for the public.

Haruna said that officers of the unit intercepted the plastic rice along Ikeja area on Monday, adding that a suspect was arrested in connection with the seizure.

Five people have died after a plane believed to be carrying EU border officials crashed and exploded into a ball of flames in Malta. The light aircraft crashed shortly after taking-off from the runway at Malta Airport in Luqa at around 5.30am today, reports say.

No one aboard the flight, heading for Misrata in Libya, is thought to have made it out alive. Emergency services are now on the scene searching the burning wreckage for any survivors.

The war against corruption may gather more steam soon, going by President Muhammadu Buhari’s latest pronouncement.

The President has told the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and other anti-graft agencies to probe even his own children or members of his family implicated in corrupt practices. He said he would not forgive the anti-graft agency if it fails to probe any allegation of corruption against his children and family members.

Large groups of zombies flood London for World Zombie Day (Photos).

Terrifying legions of the undead were unleashed in central London yesterday to mark the World Zombie Day and raise money for charity.

The World Zombie Day was first celebrated in 2006, more than 50 cities worldwide participated, including New York, Pittsburgh, Paris, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Seattle, and Tokyo.

To avoid chaos, the zombies were told not to walk on the roads, freak people out, touch anybody, bring fake weapons, bring no drugs, push their way into anyone's business premise if they are not welcome, destroy any property nor litter.

Germany to financially compensate more than 50,000 convicted gays.

Germany has decided to compensate more than 50 thousand men, who were jailed for their sexual orientation under a historic law. The plans, which will see 30 million euros ($33.6 million) set aside to compensate homosexuals convicted under a historic law for their sexual preferences, up to the 1960s, were revealed by the German daily "Süddeutsche Zeitung" (SZ) on Saturday.

Germany's Justice Minister, Heiko Maas, of the Social Democrats told the paper that compensation would "depend on concrete individual cases," taking sentence duration into consideration.
