The rapper became a father for the 15th time
when he and his longtime girlfriend, Desiree Lindstrom, welcomed their
first child together on Friday, August 19, in New York City.
According to TMZ, the baby boy is named Exodus Simmons and weighed in at 6 pounds, 10 ounces.
TMZ reported that the multi-platinum hip-hop icon was performing in Arizona when Exodus made his entrance into the world, but he hopped on a plane back to NYC that day to meet his little bundle of joy.
DMX told TMZ that the baby is a “blessing,” while the new mom wrote on her Facebook page: “I’m so in love with my son happy he’s here.” She also reported that her breast milk had come in.
The 45-year-old musician (real name Earl Simmons) and his ex wife, Tashera Simmons, with whom he has four children, appeared on season 1 of VH1’s Couples Therapy in 2012 — the same year she filed for divorce. One of their big issues: DMX fathered multiple kids outside of their union (he has 10 children with other women).
“I do still feel bad about getting a divorce, even after everything X put me through, because I took my vows very seriously. And I know X is never going to love anyone the way he loves me, and I feel the same way about him,” Simmons told Essence in 2012. “But [there] just comes a time when you give your all, and you know you gave your all, and it’s just time to move on.”
