Reports have it that Ronaldo has edged Messi to the FIFA best Player award!

Cristiano Ronaldo recently added a fourth Balon d'or to his collection, and, if rumours coming out of Spain are to be believed, he is set to scoop the FIFA Best Player award too.

Mundo Deportivo claims the Real Madrid man has narrowly pipped Lionel Messi to first place. While both players have won silverware this year, Ronaldo's continental success with club and country strengthens his claim.

Messi won La Liga and the Copa del Rey with Barcelona while Ronaldo won the Champions League with Madrid and Euro 2016 with Portugal.

He also recently led Madrid to Club World Cup glory, scoring a hat-trick in the final against Kashima Antlers as his side ran out 4-2 winners. The Portuguese currently has 55 goals in 57 games for Madrid and has scored 13 times for Portugal this year.
