The leadership of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers of Nigeria, PENGASSAN, has suspended their strike action. They suspended the strike after a closed door meeting with the Minister of Labor, Chris Ngige, at the State house Abuja.
The meeting which started at about 3pm yesterday, Tuesday July 12th, ended at about 2am this morning. Among issues addressed were undue retrenchment of oil workers by International Oil Companies, bad road networks that affect oil transport workers among others.
